Graduation Ceremonies

At DTU, we are proud of our graduates, and we celebrate the academic accomplishments of all new graduates at biannual Graduation Ceremonies in March and October.

We send out invitations approx. 1½ months before the Graduation Ceremony. I you want to be sure to receive your invitation, please register as a member of DTU Alumni and make sure that we have your e-mail address (not your student e-mail, but an e-mail that we can also use in the future to get in touch with you).

Practical Information/
Frequently asked questions

I haven’t received an invitation - what should I do?
Have you completed your education? You will not receive an invitation before your last exam results have been registered. If you have received your diploma but no invitation for the graduate reception, please contact us: or phone (+45) 45 25 11 11.

How do I sign up?
You sign up by using the registration form related to the event. Registration for the Graduation Ceremonies in the spring 2018 will open in January 2018.

Why do I need to register when I arrive at the Graduation Ceremony?
On the day of the Graduation Ceremony, hundreds of students line up to receive their congratulatory diplomas from the Dean. The registration allows us to make sure that all who turn up are called to the stage, and we can avoid waiting for graduates who don’t show up. We ask you to bring your ticket and your student card to ease the registration at your arrival. You will receive your ticket by e-mail a few days before the Graduation Ceremony.

How do I register?
You register by showing the people at the registration desk your ticket and your student card, so please bring both your ticket and your student card.

Will I not get my graduation diploma before the Graduation Ceremony?
Yes, you receive your official graduation diploma when you finish your education. What you receive at the Graduation Ceremony is a congratulatory diploma that you can for example hang on the wall in a frame.

Will there be a photographer?
Yes, a photographer will take photos of all graduates. Afterwards, photos from the Graduation Ceremonies will be available for download – we send out a link to all who have registered.

How should I dress?
There is no official dress code, but the trend for most ceremonies is a mix between casual and well dressed.

Whom should I bring to the ceremony?
Most graduates bring their parents, their boyfriend/ girlfriend or other relatives, but close friends are also welcome. Each graduate may invite up to three guests.

Where can I park?
There are parking lots at building 101 adjacent to Anker Engelunds Vej and at Studentertorvet. Use this map: Google maps | PDF

What if I become ill or for some reason cannot attend?
If you are not able to attend the Graduation Ceremony, please inform us by e-mail: If you give us your postal address, we will send you your congratulatory diploma by mail.

Will the Graduation Ceremony be live streamed?
