Graduation Ceremonies

At DTU, we are proud of our graduates, and we celebrate the academic accomplishments of all new graduates at biannual Graduation Ceremonies.

If you want to be sure to receive your invitation, please register as a member of DTU Alumni and make sure that we have your e-mail address (not your student e-mail, but an e-mail that we can also use in the future to get in touch with you).

Graduation Ceremonies November 2020


Bachelors of Engineering: 25 November

Masters of Science in Engineering: 26 November

Please note that these ceremonies are for graduates who have completed their education in the period 1 May 2020 - 30 September 2020. Graduates from before 1 May 2020 who did not wish to attend the virtual celebrations held in June 2020 are also invited to join. Registration opens in October 2020.

We are doing our best to prepare a personal and festive celebrations in a safe environment. Due to COVID-19, DTU has decided to arrange the celebrations in small groups divided by study programmes with a maximum of 50 people gathered in each place. The celebrations will take place on various locations on Lyngby Campus. Participants will receive detailed information about locations in advance.

18.35 Commencement addresses
19.00 Local ceremonies with handing out of congratulatory diplomas
19.30 Closing

Heads of Studies will be local hosts and responsible for the local ceremonies. Commencement addresses by the President of DTU and the President of Polyteknisk Forening will be live streamed.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to take guests with you, but the commencement addresses as well as the local ceremonies will be streamed so that family/friends can watch from home.

IMPORTANT: Registration deadline is on Wednesday 11 November at noon. It will not be possible to participate if you have not signed up by then.

Practical Information/FAQ


When will I receive my diploma?
The study administration sends your diploma to you by mail, but it may take a few months. If you have questions about your diploma, please contact the student administration: studadm@adm.dtu.dk. At the Graduation Ceremony, you will receive a congratulatory diploma that you can for example hang on the wall in a frame. If you don't attend the Graduation Ceremony, we will send it to you by mail within a few months.

I graduated before 1 May 2020 and would like to attend the Graduation Ceremony in November 2020 – is that possible?
Yes, that is possible. Please contact alumni@dtu.dk.

When will I receive my invitation?
Personal invitations will be sent when registration opens in week 43 to all relevant graduates from DTU Alumni to the email that DTU Alumni has registered.

How do I sign up?
You sign up by using the registration form related to the event (see link above).

How will the Graduation Ceremony be held?
Please see the description under "Programme" above.

What if I become ill or for some reason cannot attend?
If you are not able to attend the Graduation Ceremony, please inform us by e-mail: alumni@dtu.dk. Please inform us about your postal address so that we can send you your congratulatory diploma by mail.

I have completed my education on 1 October 2020 or later – when will I be invited to a Graduation Ceremony?
You will be invited to a Graduation Ceremony in the spring/summer of 2021. The dates have not yet been set.

DTU - Indgang

DTU Alumni is a network for graduates from DTU (Technical University of Denmark).

The network is also open to international students who have studied at DTU as exchange students as well as staff who have been employed for more than three years at DTU.

Membership is free of charge.
