Graduation Ceremonies

At DTU, we are proud of our graduates, and we celebrate the academic accomplishments of all new graduates at biannual Graduation Ceremonies.

If you want to be sure to receive your invitation, please register as a member of DTU Alumni and make sure that we have your e-mail address (not your student e-mail, but an e-mail that we can also use in the future to get in touch with you).

Graduation Ceremonies 2021

Bachelors of Engineering: Wednesday 18 August

Masters of Science in Engineering: Thursday 19 August

Please note that these ceremonies are for graduates who have completed their education in the period 1 October 2020 - 31 May 2021.

We strive to hold the Graduation Ceremonies on campus and are currently working on establishing a format which ensures that the celebrations comply with all expected covid-19 restrictions.

Practical Information/FAQ

When will I receive my diploma?
The study administration sends your diploma to you by mail, but it may take a few months. If you have questions about your diploma, please contact the student administration: studadm@adm.dtu.dk. At the Graduation Ceremony, you will also receive a congratulatory diploma that you can for example hang on the wall in a frame.

When will I receive my invitation?
Personal invitations will be sent about 6 weeks before the Graduation Ceremonies to all relevant graduates from DTU Alumni to the email that DTU Alumni has registered.

How do I sign up?
You register for the Graduation Ceremony through a link in your personal invitation. If you do not receive your invitation, please contact alumni@dtu.dk.

Why do I need to register when I arrive at the Graduation Ceremony?
On the day of the Graduation Ceremony, hundreds of students line up to receive their congratulatory diplomas from the Dean. The registration allows us to make sure that all who turn up are called to the stage, and we can avoid waiting for graduates who don’t show up. We ask you to bring your ticket and your student card to ease the registration at your arrival. You will receive your ticket by e-mail, and it is also available on the app called DTU Events, which you can download from both Google Play and App Store.

How do I register?
You register by showing the people at the registration desk your ticket and your student card, so please bring both your ticket and your student card.

How should I dress?
There is no official dress code, but the trend for most ceremonies is a mix between casual and well dressed.

Whom should I bring to the ceremony?
Most graduates bring their parents, their boyfriend/ girlfriend or other relatives, but close friends are also welcome. Each graduate may invite up to three guests.

Where can I park?
There are parking lots at building 101 adjacent to Anker Engelunds Vej and at Studentertorvet. See map.

Will there be a photographer?
Yes, a photographer will take photos of all graduates. The photos will be published on Flickr (for high resolution downloads) as well as on DTU Alumni's Facebook page within 1-2 weeks.

Will the Graduation Ceremony be live streamed?
Yes, your friends and family will be able to watch the Graduation Ceremony live via this link: https://video.dtu.dk/category/Live%3EDTU+Event+Channel+1/ (DTU Event Channel 1)

What if I become ill or for some reason cannot attend?
If you are not able to attend the Graduation Ceremony, please inform us by e-mail: alumni@dtu.dk.

I complete my education on 1 June 2021 or later – when will I be invited to a Graduation Ceremony?
You will be invited to a Graduation Ceremony in November 2021. The dates have not yet been determined.
