Practical Information/FAQ

When will I receive my diploma?
The study administration sends your diploma to you by mail, but it may take a few months. If you have questions about your diploma, please contact the student administration: studadm@adm.dtu.dk. At the Graduation Ceremony, you will receive a congratulatory diploma that you can for example hang on the wall in a frame. If you don't attend the Graduation Ceremony, we will send it to you by mail within a few months.

I missed the Virtual Graduation Ceremony held in June 2020 - where can I watch it?
You can watch (or rewatch) it here:
Virtual Graduation Ceremony for Masters of Science in Engineering June 2020
Virtual Graduation Ceremony for Bachelors of Engineering June 2020

I graduated before 1 May 2020 and would like to attend the Graduation Ceremony in November 2020 – is that possible?
Yes, that is possible. Please contact alumni@dtu.dk to be notified when registration opens in October 2020.

When will I receive my invitation?
Personal invitations will be been sent to all graduates from DTU Alumni approx. 1½ month before the Graduation Ceremony to the email that DTU Alumni has registered. If you have not received your invitation by then, please contact alumni@dtu.dk.

How do I sign up?
You sign up by using the registration form related to the event (links will be available on this page once the registration opens).

Why do I need to register when I arrive at the Graduation Ceremony?
On the day of the Graduation Ceremony, hundreds of students line up to receive their congratulatory diplomas from the Dean. The registration allows us to make sure that all who turn up are called to the stage, and we can avoid waiting for graduates who don’t show up. We ask you to bring your ticket and your student card to ease the registration at your arrival. You will receive your ticket by e-mail, and it is also available on the app called DTU Events, which you can download from both Google Play and App Store.

How do I register?
You register by showing the people at the registration desk your ticket and your student card, so please bring both your ticket and your student card.

Will there be a photographer?
Yes, a photographer will take photos of all graduates. The photos will be published on Flickr (for high resolution downloads) as well as on DTU Alumni's Facebook page within 1-2 weeks.

How should I dress?
There is no official dress code, but the trend for most ceremonies is a mix between casual and well dressed.

Whom should I bring to the ceremony?
Most graduates bring their parents, their boyfriend/ girlfriend or other relatives, but close friends are also welcome. Each graduate may invite up to three guests.

Where can I park?
There are parking lots at building 101 adjacent to Anker Engelunds Vej and at Studentertorvet. See map.

What if I become ill or for some reason cannot attend?
If you are not able to attend the Graduation Ceremony, please inform us by e-mail: alumni@dtu.dk. Please inform us about your postal address so that we can send you your congratulatory diploma by mail.

Will the Graduation Ceremony be live streamed?
Yes, your friends and family will be able to watch the Graduation Ceremony live via a link which will be added to this page before the Graduation Ceremony.

I have completed my education on 1 November 2020 or later – when will I be invited to a Graduation Ceremony?
You will be invited to a Graduation Ceremony in June 2021.
