More companies are based on inventions from DTU

Inventions and patents from DTU form the basis for a growing number of spinout companies in Denmark.

Startup company Prenaital, which uses AI models to identify up to 35 per cent more high-risk pregnancies, was one of the companies founded in 2024 on the basis of a DTU patent. The Ministry of Higher Education and Science publishes annual commercialisation statistics (only available in danish) that compile the number of registered inventions, patent applications, licence-, sales- and option agreements, and the number of spin-out companies from Danish universities, hospitals and sector research institutions.
