DTU honorary alumna 2024: Helle Olund Villumsen

Grounds for the appointment:

Since 2012, Helle has been helping to set the direction at DTU, both in DTU’s Board of Representatives and in DTU Construct’s advisory board. Helle has been involved in the nomination committee for the board and is also frequently used as an examiner and collaborator in the Design and Innovation study programme.

Helle has experience ranging from materials to production and product development. Particularly in the areas of standardization and modularization, Helle has applied these competencies. She is one of the frontrunners who has shaped the way Danish companies develop their product portfolios based on modularization with clear interfaces; an approach that ensures the physical world elegantly aligns with the digital world, thereby supporting the use of digitalization in the sustainable transition.
