"At DTU, it is our great pleasure and a huge benefit for us to have alumni in our advisory boards, in the Board of Representatives, as mentors, as guest lecturers, etc. The alumni get 'into the engine room' - close to the students, research, education and innovation. Our alumni bring concrete experience and insight. They are strong sparring partners for our students and us, and not least, they are strong ambassadors for the importance of engineers to society."
These were President Anders Bjarklev's words when he spoke to approx. 60 specially invited alumni who attended "The President's alumni evening" - an annual event where DTU thanks alumni who have made and are making a difference as members of advisory boards, mentors, guest speakers, etc. This year, the event was held at DTU Space, where exclusive tours were arranged with a presentation of some of the department's unique research facilities.
DTU honorary alumnus 2023
At the event, the President named Hans Aage Hjuler as DTU honorary alumnus 2023. This happened in recognition of the fact that Hans Aage Hjuler has contributed to DTU over many years on many fronts - e.g. by serving on DTU's Board of Representatives, contributing to broad collaborations and raising funds for countless projects.
